Cyber ​​attacks on MacDonald, hackers succeed in stealing personal information of employees and customers

MacDonald’s in the US, South Korea and Taiwan have been hacked by hackers and data has been breached. Hackers have been able to steal personal information from employees and customers in South Korea and Taiwan.

The information includes people’s email, contact number and delivery address. In the US, only employees’ data has been stolen. They have also been able to hack store information, customer living area and play area information.

The company came to know about the cyber attack when it asked an external consultant to investigate after seeing some problems in the internal system. McDonald’s removed unofficial access within a week.

The hackers also tried to break data into branches in South Africa and Russia, but are investigating whether they succeeded.

The attack involved other data breaches, such as ransomware. McDonald’s also pledged to further improve security.
