Microsoft warns to avoid Night Sky ransomware

Microsoft has warned Chinese hackers to be vigilant against Knight Sky ransomware. This is double extortion ransomware. Such ransomware steals company data and threatens to publish data if ransom is not paid.

It is registered in the name of ransomware operator DEV-0401 in China. Recently, it was discovered that Chinese hackers had attacked educational institutions using the Log Four J problem.

Overwatch game had a log for j bug and hackers were using that problem. It is suspected that the hack may have been carried out by the same Chinese group.
