Now Twitter users can unmention themselves from Twitter threads. Unmentions will give you the option to opt out of unwanted conversations on the platform.

After unmentioning, the user cannot be re-tagged in that Twitter thread and no other user can reply to you from that thread. It also prevents unwanted notifications from the user’s app.

This feature has been in the works for many years. The company expects that this will also reduce online harassment to a large extent. This will give users more control over how they interact with others.
