Social networks are now going to be brought under the scope of taxation.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said this while presenting the budget for the upcoming financial year 2079/080 in the Federal Parliament on Sunday.

He said that in the context of the increasing number of economic activities conducted within Nepal using electronic networks from outside Nepal, arrangements have been made to bring such businesses or transactions under the scope of taxation.
