Nepal Rastra Bank is going to review the electronic payment system. Releasing the monetary policy for the financial year 2078/79 on Friday, the National Bank said that the limit of electricity payments will be reviewed.

It is stated in the policy, ‘In order to promote electronic payment transactions, it has been mentioned that the limits of payment transactions through various means will be reviewed. In addition, policy arrangements will be made to maintain the fees charged in electronic payment transactions at an appropriate level.’

Likewise, the National Bank has said that payment service providers and payment service operating organizations will be encouraged to increase their business scope and provide electronic payment services to customers of microfinance institutions and cooperatives.
